Great West Gives

Since 1984, Great West Engineering has partnered with clients to improve their communities and the quality of life for citizens.  Improving the world in which we live and work has been part of our DNA for over three decades.  Our leadership and staff have always taken pride in improving access to clean drinking water, safety of transportation systems, protecting the environment, responsibly addressing solid waste and wastewater, and overcoming financial challenges through securing competitive grants and loans.

Becoming invested in the communities in which we live and work has become part of our values.  Over the past three decades, considerable effort has been placed not only in quality work but in contributing to the communities that we are a part of through philanthropic efforts.  Our staff have embraced these efforts giving them a life of their own and ultimately taking them to the next level.  With this exponential growth of philanthropy, we are excited to unveil Great West Gives!  The Great West Gives program is the official roof that all our philanthropic efforts will live under as we continue to improve the world in which we live and work.

Throughout the past several years, Great West has been a part of many efforts to give back.  Below highlights a few recent Great West Gives efforts that are near and dear to our hearts.

Christmas Families

2021 is the 6th year that Great West has worked with educators to identify families in need of a boost to their Christmas season.  Our staff works with school counselors and the families to determine what assistance is needed and then starts planning, yes planning, remember we’re engineers!  Leading up to Christmas, Great West employees make donations which are matched by the Firm.  In December, our staff shops locally based on the needs and wants of each family.  Gifts are wrapped and delivered to each family making for the type of holiday that is deserved, we just enjoy spreading the holiday cheer!

Boise Rescue Mission | City Light

The Boise Rescue Mission provides a safe and stable place where women and children can heal from the hurts that has left them vulnerable.  Great West’s Boise office staff have partnered with the Mission to provide meals to those in need.  Completed multiple times, Great West staff purchase, pre-cook the meal off-site, finalize in the Mission’s kitchen, and cater a dinner for those healing at the mission.

Helena Food Share Kid’s Pack Challenge/Donations

The Helena Food Share serves neighbors in need by providing food in a respectful and dignified way and by working with others to eliminate hunger.  Great West has assisted with this vision for over five years through donating over $25k in employee donations matched by Great West Engineering and participating in the Kid Pack Challenge.  The Kid Pack Challenge pits competing businesses against each other to see who can make the most Kid Packs in an hour.   The Packs are then given to children in need for meals over the weekend through each child’s school.

Our hope is to build off the momentum gained over the years helping more in need through the Great West Gives program.  Make sure to follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram to find out the latest efforts under the hashtag #GreatWestGives.
