As we look forward to the holidays, one of the highlights of the season is fundraising and helping local families in need. An annual Great West tradition since 2015, it’s incredibly special to see our staff come together and donate to support local families in the communities we live and work. With employee donations matched dollar for dollar by Great West Engineering, we’re honored to work with local schools and charitable organizations to adopt families to help with gifts, meals, and family specific requests to relieve the stresses that can be magnified during the holidays.
Fundraising efforts take place in all our offices and we’re proud to have generated over $16,420 company-wide for the 2023 season adding to our growing total since 2015. But it’s not just about the numbers, it’s about the real impact. Our team, in collaboration with local schools and charitable organizations, dives into the community to identify families who could use an extra sprinkle of holiday magic. From toys that light up little faces to essential winter clothing and household necessities, our shopping lists are as diverse as the families we support.
With lists in hand and lots of holiday spirit, volunteers from our offices converge on local stores to purchase requested items. After the shopping extravaganza, the buzz of wrapping paper and laughter fills our spaces as our dedicated volunteers turn piles of gifts into beautifully wrapped treasures. As multiple vehicles are packed by the assembly line of employee volunteers, it always proves to be an inspiring sight to see it all come together and take part in the excitement that is sure to come.
“I truly hope you know how much of a difference you make, and that you actually make Christmas for families that would otherwise not have it. We are SO appreciative of all that you do!”
-Local school counselor
As we sit down to enjoy our own festive celebrations, there’s a collective hope among us—that our efforts have indeed painted smiles on faces and eased a bit of the holiday stress for the families we’ve touched. This holiday season, amidst the hustle and bustle, we at Great West Engineering are reminded that the most wonderful gift is the ability to bring warmth and happiness to those around us.
